Here’s my take on these questions…
1. I am so scared I don’t know where to start. What can I do? For my answer, click here.
- Fear, uncertainy, doubt. Don’t doubt yourself. You know the only thing that is certain is that if you DON"T do anything, you won’t change anything. So make a small change. Take a small first step, and select a dating site and give idating a whirl. Everyone is doing it.
2. Does Internet dating work?
- Yes, but choose your idating site carefully and be prepared to put lots of time in to your search. Don’t expect instant results. Put time into your profile, and save it so you can use it on other dating sites.
3. What is the best dating site for me?
- Go with a generic to start with. You can see a list of the biggest sites on the right bar of Online Personals Watch. I list the official rankings of the top dating sites there.
4. Why don’t they answer my emails?
- The more you pay for membership, the more likely you’ll get a timely response. Don’t expect customer service on the free sites.
5. I don’t want to be recognized on a dating site by my family/friends/clients/co-workers/students. What can I do to prevent that?
- Why? Everyone is doing it. They know you’re single. You should only be ashamed to NOT be seen. It means you’re being lazy.
6. Shouldn’t I try eHarmony?
- Sure. But also try one of the free dating sites, and a niche dating site at the same time.
7. Is it okay to lie about my age?
- No. It isn’t. You should not start a relationship based on a lie. It may be easier to find someone online by lying about yourself, but the truth will be revealed eventually. And the truth will be, that you’re a liar. So if you want to meet someone honest, be honest in your profile.
8. How do I tell my date about xyz?
- Start with abc
9. There are no good men/women where I live. Should I even try?
- There are always good men within a drive or a short flight of where you are. You just need to try harder to find them.
10. This shouldn’t be so hard. Why does Internet dating take so much time? Shouldn’t love “just happen”?
- Yes, it will always just happen, provided you believe in reincarnation and don’t mind waiting a couple of lifetimes.
